How to Make Your Account Tax Exempt
If you are a small business, dealer, school, government agency or religous entity and are tax exempt, we can make your account tax exempt. We will need a copy of your tax exempt form. Just sending us your Tax ID number is not good enough.
We have 2 Ways to Mark your Account exempt
First Way to Get your Account Tax Exempt
Step 1
- Create an Account on the website
Step 2
Email us at [email protected]. You must include your account name and a PDF copy of your Tax exempt form
Step 3
We will email you back stating that your account is set-up and ready to go.
The Second Way to Get your Account Tax Exempt
This second way is more for our small engine shops but we can will process account the same way. You will be able to upload your form and request your account to be built. We will process your account accordingly. You will receive an email when the account is ready.

Information Regarding Online Sale Tax and Your State.
The good news ProParts Direct, LLC is based in New Hampshire a State that does not collect taxes on sales. But due to the Wayfair Ruling, a few states as of Jan 1, 2019 we will have to collect for.
- As a Non-Collecting retailer, we are not required and do not collect OK SD and VT sales taxes
- States we are required to collect now MA, ME, PA, NJ, AR, CT, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KY, LA, ME, MD, MI, MN, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, TN, SC, VA and WI.
- Your purchase may still be subject to your state tax unless it is specifically exempt
- Some States do require the purchaser to report any purchase that was not taxed and to pay on the purchase. The tax may be reported and paid on your states (Use) sales tax form
- Purchasing online does not automatically make your purchase exempt from sales tax
