I had a broken rod and another scored up on the crank journal on my v-twin. Remember to use muratic acid to dissolve the old aluminum rod on your crank journal, don't use sandpaper unless you have to. I had to use both, but I used 800 grit with a shoelace to be sure not to remove too much, and evenly to make sure it doesn't go out of round which is reject at .0015 . I mic'd it afterwards still coming in on the low side of the spec sheet...but just barely, almost had to buy a new crankshaft, but the rebuild went good and no rod knock.
